There is a much larger eletrolytic capacitor that really packs the punch on the other side. It is a small capacitor on the low-voltage end, just short across its terminals with a resistor first. Quick & easy fix - yes, but a quick & easy way to potentially kill yourself too - even small speedlight capacitors can store lethal voltages, which if you don't know what you're doing poking around inside a flash head, could give you a fatal shock. Phuc (Phooc) Nguyen edited this topic ages ago. I BELIEVE THAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH MY YN560!! I've been trying to find a post like that for the past month now and you have finally linked it for me!! THANK YOU! I'm pretty sure I have the same issue as you are with my YN560. I'm assuming the flash capacitor has gone. Probably the same chronic problem that occurs with the YN468: The most common return problem is they simply and suddenly die. The return rate for the metal foot variety - none, yet (been shipping them for 11 weeks now). of the plastic foot variety the return rate is just under 10%. I will double post this on the other new post asking almost the same question. What can the matter be? Anyone? It's driving me crazy cos I really LOVED them when they were working :((((((( I have no money to buy any other flashes, and I doubt I'd buy a 560 again. The flash gun is showing up as ready to work, but when I prress my shutter release, the camera flash beeps but DOESN't flash. Tried changed ALL batteries & it's not that. I'll get the odd FLASH when I press the test button, but it rarely happens.

I've had 2 YN560's for several months, worked fine but the past 2 months they've been mis-firing and NOW they don't work at all.
